Job summary

LinkedIn is seeking a Staff Security Engineer to strengthen the security posture of its core products, cloud infrastructure, and development workflows. You will lead threat modeling, design and implement secure‑by‑default frameworks, perform architecture reviews, and build scalable tooling to detect and mitigate vulnerabilities at scale.

You will drive security across platform engineering, ML/AI teams, and product DevEx to ensure scalable, secure-by-design systems.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree or equivalent technical experience in CS or security.
• Hands-on experience with web/security practices and SSDLC.
• 5+ years in security engineering and in-depth knowledge of app security, auth, cryptography, or supply chain security.
• 5+ years in threat modeling, design reviews, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessment.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive SSDLC and shift-left security controls across engineering platforms, including automated SAST/DAST scanning, software supply chain security, and CI/CD security guardrails.
• Architect and build secure-by-default frameworks, paved roads, and developer guardrails for cloud infra, microservices, auth services, and core components.
• Build automation and security tooling to identify, reproduce, and mitigate vulnerabilities at scale; partner with Detection & Response on logging, telemetry, and playbooks.
• Lead threat modeling, architectural design reviews, and risk assessments; embed secure design patterns into developer tooling and production services.
• Define security standards, reference architectures, and policies across product development, API design, data storage, and third-party integrations.
