WRITER seeks a Staff Security Engineer to build secure AI-powered platforms across globally recognized brands. You will blend application security, AI infrastructure, and developer enablement to embed security into every line of code, enabling fast, trusted product delivery.

Role spans threat modeling, automated security controls, and secure coding standards, with hybrid work from NY, SF, or Seattle. You’ll protect data pipelines and training environments while shaping enterprise-grade security

Qualifications

• 4+ years hands-on experience in application security engineering.
• Experience securing large-scale production systems.
• Two or more programming languages (Python/Java/Go/JS-TS) and code reviews.
• Knowledge of SAST/DAST, vulnerability management, and DevSecOps concepts.
• Excellent communication to translate security concepts for technical and non-technical teams.
• Builder mindset to automate, scale, and empower teams while reducing risk.
• Aligned with WRITER's Connect, Challenge, and Own values.

Responsibilities

• Build security into the DNA of the AI platform and embed security into product decisions from day one.
• Own and evolve the application security program, CI/CD integrations, and secure coding standards.
• Lead security assessments, threat modeling, and penetration tests across apps, AI services, and APIs.
• Design and implement controls for data pipelines, model training environments, and customer agents.
• Collaborate with engineering to develop reusable security patterns and libraries.
• Stay ahead of AI/ML security threats and proactively defend against novel risks.
