Job summary

Robinhood is building the next generation of security operations, applying AI-driven automation and autonomic security concepts to protect its platform. The Staff Security Engineer (IC6) leads incident response and detection engineering, mentors engineers, and partners with cross-functional teams to reduce noise and accelerate threat remediation.

This role is based in our Denver, CO area offices with in-person work expected.

Qualifications

• Experience leading complex incident responses under pressure with executive communication.
• Deep cloud and Kubernetes security expertise.
• Code reading and reasoning across multiple languages for security.
• Designing and operating scalable detection pipelines and SOAR playbooks.
• Experience designing agentic AI workflows for security operations.
• Adaptability in fast-growing fintech environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead Incident Response: command security incident response workstreams with decisive leadership and effective communication to leadership.
• Elevate Detection Rigor: maintain global detection catalogs across cloud and Kubernetes environments for high-precision alerts.
• Drive Strategic Innovation: architect Autonomic Security Operations roadmap with AI agents and automated issue discovery.
• Code & Architecture Analysis: read and reason through multi-language codebases to identify vulnerabilities and guide remediation.
• Mentor & Elevate the Team: foster technical excellence and growth through mentorship.
• On-Call Support: participate in weekly on-call rotations to ensure real-time readiness.
