Job summary

Skydio is seeking a Staff Infrastructure Engineer on the Streaming team to shape cloud infrastructure behind our real-time streaming platform. You will work across Kubernetes, networking, deployment systems, and production services to improve reliability, performance, and security.

The role blends software and infrastructure with code changes as needed, writing primarily in Go, Python, and C++. You will lead cross-team initiatives, define technical direction, and scale services to meet growing

Qualifications

• 8+ years in SRE/Platform engineering or equivalent infrastructure role.
• Strong experience operating and automating production Kubernetes clusters, with familiarity with AWS and CD systems.
• Experience operating distributed systems with long-lived connections, latency-sensitive traffic, or demanding availability requirements; Go preferred.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, storage, and resilient topologies.
• Experience building observability using production metrics, logs, traces, and profiling.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve Kubernetes infrastructure for real-time services, driving capacity planning and efficiency as demand grows.
• Improve deployment, scaling, and recovery workflows to minimize disruption to active streams.
• Establish SLIs/SLAs and observability for stream availability and latency; investigate failures across code, networking, and cloud infra.
• Partner with device, networking, and product engineers to diagnose failures across the device-to-cloud path.
• Work with security engineers to strengthen data, drone, and streaming service protections.
