Job summary

Skydio is hiring a Senior Infrastructure Engineer for its Streaming team to build and operate the cloud infrastructure behind our real-time streaming platform. You will work across Kubernetes, networking, deployment systems, and production services to improve reliability, performance, security, and efficiency.

This hybrid role involves contributing to application code and owning infrastructure projects from design through deployment and ongoing operation, with backend services primarily in Go,

Qualifications

• 5+ years in SRE, platform engineering, DevOps, or similar infrastructure roles, delivering projects from design to production.
• Experience operating production Kubernetes clusters, with AWS and CD systems, including safe rollout/rollback.
• Experience with distributed systems with latency-sensitive traffic and long-lived connections, Go preferred.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, storage, and resilient topologies.
• Experience building observability using metrics, logs, traces, and profiling.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve Kubernetes infrastructure for real-time services, boosting capacity and efficiency as demand grows.
• Improve deployment, scaling, and recovery workflows to minimize disruption to active streams.
• Build observability and define service-level objectives for stream availability and latency.
• Investigate failures across the device-to-cloud path, including application, Linux networking, and cloud infra.
• Collaborate with device, networking, and product engineers to enable new real-time capabilities.
