Job summary

Skydio, the leading US drone company, seeks a Staff Infrastructure Engineer for the Streaming team. You will shape the cloud infrastructure behind our real-time streaming platform, across Kubernetes, networking, deployment systems, and production services to improve reliability, performance, security, and efficiency.

This is a hybrid role with the freedom to work across the stack, including making changes to application code in Go, Python, and C++ to address root problems.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in SRE, platform engineering, DevOps, or equivalent infrastructure role.
• Ability to define technical direction and lead cross-team initiatives.
• Experience with production Kubernetes clusters and AWS.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and safe rollout/rollback strategies.
• Experience with latency-sensitive, real-time streaming and long-lived connections.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve Kubernetes infrastructure for real-time services, optimizing capacity and efficiency as demand grows.
• Improve deployment, scaling, and recovery workflows to minimize disruption of active streams.
• Establish service-level objectives and observability for stream availability and latency; troubleshoot failures across code, networking, and cloud infra.
• Collaborate with device, networking, and product engineers to diagnose failures along the device-to-cloud path.
• Work with security engineers to strengthen data protection and streaming controls.
