Job summary

Skydio is seeking a Staff Infrastructure Engineer for the Streaming team to shape cloud infrastructure behind our real-time streaming platform. You will work across Kubernetes, networking, deployment systems, and production services to improve reliability, performance, security, and efficiency.

The role blends software and infrastructure, with opportunities to modify application code and drive cross-team initiatives. Go is the primary backend language, with Python and C++ in use.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in SRE, platform engineering, DevOps, or equivalent infrastructure roles with leadership experience.
• Proven ability to define technical direction and drive cross-team initiatives.
• Experience running production Kubernetes clusters in cloud environments and implementing safe CD strategies.
• Strong knowledge of cloud networking, security, storage, and latency-critical systems.
• Proficiency with observability using metrics, logs, traces, and profiling to diagnose failures.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve Kubernetes infrastructure for real-time services with capacity planning and efficiency.
• Improve deployment, scaling, and recovery workflows to minimize disruption to streams.
• Set and monitor service-level objectives for availability, latency, and reliability.
• Collaborate with device, networking, and product teams to diagnose failures end-to-end.
• Work with security engineers to strengthen data and platform protections.
