Job summary

Skydio is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer on the Streaming team to build and operate the cloud infrastructure behind our real-time streaming platform. You will work across Kubernetes, networking, deployment systems, and production services to improve reliability, performance, security, and efficiency.

This hybrid role lets you own infrastructure projects from design through deployment and ongoing operation, collaborating with partner teams to scale with customer demand.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in SRE, platform engineering, DevOps or equivalent infrastructure role with ability to deliver projects end-to-end.
• Strong experience operating and automating production Kubernetes clusters, familiar with AWS and CI/CD systems.
• Experience with distributed systems, latency-sensitive traffic, or high availability requirements; Go preferred.
• Cloud networking, security, storage, and resilient topologies; observability via metrics/logs/traces.
• Experience building observability and using production metrics to investigate failures.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve Kubernetes infrastructure for real-time services and scale with demand.
• Improve deployment, scaling, and recovery workflows to minimize disruption to streams.
• Define observability and SLA goals; investigate failures across app, Linux networking, and cloud layers.
• Collaborate with device, networking, and product engineers to diagnose failures end-to-end.
• Work with security engineers to strengthen controls protecting data, drones, and streaming services.
