Candid is seeking a Staff Product Engineer to lead end-to-end engineering for an AI-native product team. This high-visibility, high-autonomy role emphasizes leverage through AI tooling, strong technical judgment, and influence rather than direct management.

Based remotely in the United States, you will partner with product, design, and data leads to ship impactful features, set quality standards, and mentor other engineers through reusable patterns and demos.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of relevant experience.
• Extensive, hands-on software engineering experience with end-to-end ownership.
• Fluency with AI-assisted development tools and production AI features.
• Strong architectural judgment across the full stack.
• Genuine product sense and collaboration with product and design.
• Evidence of force-multiplication by improving peers.
• High agency, bias to action, comfortable with ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Own engineering end-to-end for the team - from product surface through backend, infrastructure, deployment, and operations - as a self-sufficient individual contributor.
• Use AI-assisted development to multiply output and enable a one-engineer team.
• Build AI capabilities into the product with value - LLM integration, retrieval, and agentic patterns.
• Partner with the product manager and designer as an equal in discovery and delivery: bring a customer-facing perspective and drive outcomes.
• Raise the bar across engineering by producing reference implementations, reusable patterns, and sharing learnings via demos and sessions.
• Set a standard for quality in code, tests, and documentation.
