Job summary

Candid is seeking a Staff Product Engineer to act as the engineering foundation for a new AI-native product team. You will own end-to-end delivery, partner with product and design, and drive architectural decisions while advocating for best practices across the organization.

You will be a high-agency, high-visibility individual contributor focusing on leveraging modern AI tooling to create leverage for the wider engineering organization, with in-person summits twice yearly.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated fluency with AI-assisted development tools and hands-on experience building AI-powered product features in production.

Responsibilities

• Own engineering end-to-end for the team—from product surface through backend, infrastructure, deployment, and operations.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to multiply output and enable a one-engineer team.
• Build AI capabilities into the product with value, including LLM integration and retrieval patterns, with guardrails.
• Partner with product and design as an equal in discovery and delivery, focusing on outcomes over output.
• Raise engineering quality with reusable patterns, demos, and knowledge sharing.
• Set a standard for code quality, tests, and documentation.
