Job summary

Candid is seeking a Staff Product Engineer to serve as the engineering foundation of an AI-native product team. You will work closely with a product manager and designer to shape what we build and why, and set an organization-wide example of excellent AI-accelerated engineering.

This is a high-agency, individual-contributor role focused on end-to-end ownership, leveraging AI tooling to multiply output and raise engineering standards across the organization.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of relevant software experience with end-to-end ownership.
• Hands-on experience building AI-powered product features in production.
• Strong architectural judgment across the full stack.
• Genuine product sense and collaboration with product/design.
• Ability to influence others through example and reusable work.
• High agency, accountability, and comfort with ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Own engineering end-to-end for the team from surface to production and operations.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to multiply output as a single contributor.
• Integrate AI capabilities into the product with sound evaluation and guardrails.
• Partner with product manager and designer to shape direction and outcomes.
• Raise engineering standards with reusable patterns and demos.
