Job summary

Walrus Foundation is seeking a Staff Product Designer to define and own the product experience for Walrus. You’ll partner with product and engineering from discovery to implementation, shaping problems, validating solutions, and driving coherent design across surfaces.

You’ll establish systems and standards to scale, create consistent interaction patterns, and help the product surface grow without fragmentation.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of product design experience with ownership of complex technical products.
• Portfolio showing shipped developer tools, cloud/infrastructure products, or dashboards.
• Ability to simplify complex technical workflows without losing necessary control.
• Strong interaction-design skills for data-heavy interfaces and high-consequence actions.
• Proven ability to frame problems and influence product strategy.
• Experience evolving design systems and reusable interaction patterns.
• Excellent collaboration with engineering and product partners.

Responsibilities

• Own the Walrus product experience end-to-end.
• Lead discovery with product and engineering to frame problems.
• Involve developers in the design process via interviews and usability tests.
• Design complex workflows: data, configuration, resource management.
• Build and maintain Walrus design system and components.
• Stay engaged through implementation and QA with engineering.
• Influence product direction with a strong design perspective.
