Job summary

BetterUp is seeking a Staff Product Designer to shape the next generation of its platform and design language. You will set the vision for how our ecosystem of products, tools, and experiences come together with user empathy and system thinking.

Collaborate with product, research, engineering, and leadership to define a north star for the experience architecture, mentor senior designers, and evolve the design system with elegance and rigor.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of product design experience with deep expertise in system-level design, platform thinking, and multi-surface experiences.
• Portfolio showcasing visionary work balancing clarity, craft, and strategic insight.
• Demonstrated ability to influence product direction at a senior leadership level.
• Experience mentoring and leading other designers, fostering autonomy and alignment.
• Mastery in information architecture, interaction design, and visual systems thinking.

Responsibilities

• Drive the design vision and strategy for cross-product experiences at scale.
• Lead end-to-end design for complex systems and user journeys across surfaces.
• Partner with senior leaders to shape product direction and long-term roadmaps.
• Translate abstract problems into clear frameworks and design principles.
• Advance the design system for flexibility, consistency, and innovation.
• Mentor and elevate designers through feedback and hands-on guidance.
• Model thoughtful leadership balancing business goals, user impact, and craft.
