Job summary

Vanta is seeking a Staff Product Designer for the Activation team in the Self-Serve group in the United States. You will define the end-to-end Activation experience, from first login to activation, and align with PMs and engineers to ship quarterly roadmaps.

You will champion craft, growth-centric design, and data-driven decision making while mentoring other designers and shaping the hiring bar. You will work across teams to ensure a cohesive, single-product feel, document strategy through

Qualifications

• 8+ years designing and shipping high-quality B2B SaaS products across multiple teams and quarters.
• Track record of shaping activation, onboarding, time-to-value, or retention outcomes with measurable results.
• Experience shipping AI-powered or automation-heavy products with clear impact on users and agents.
• Ability to set direction in ambiguous, high-stakes spaces and present a strong point of view.
• Strong written strategy skills with briefs, strategy docs, or roadmaps used by leadership.
• Experience leading large cross-functional initiatives with regular reviews and rituals.
• Fluency with product analytics, experimentation, and defining success metrics.
• Exceptional interaction, visual, and content craft on dense product UI and scalable patterns.
• Ability to mentor designers and raise the hiring bar within the team.
• Portfolio showing end-to-end product work and outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Set end-to-end Activation experience vision from login to activation and roadmap deployment.
• Drive product shape and roadmap with PMs and EMs, grounded in user evidence and data.
• Design agent-first experiences and decide where humans review and where automation leads.
• Create reusable AI patterns to speed up cross-team delivery and consistency.
• Define activation outcomes, instrument them with data, and run experiments to move metrics.
• Lead customer discovery with cross-functional partners and share learnings with leadership.
• Align partner teams to present a single product experience, not fragmented orgs.
• Document strategy with briefs and POVs to enable decisions without your presence.
• Lead large multi-team initiatives from kickoff to launch with reviews and dependencies.
• Raise design quality across Self-Serve through critique and collaboration with engineering.
• Mentor designers and uphold high hiring standards.
