Job summary

Machinify is a leading healthcare intelligence company building a scalable platform for health plan clients across the country. We are seeking a Staff Platform Engineer to own foundational systems, tooling, and frameworks that accelerate teams.

You will influence architecture, shape observability, and drive AI tool adoption while working across JVM, Rust, Python, SQL, and Spark. This is a staff IC role offering high autonomy and impact.

Qualifications

• Systems thinking and seeing how pieces connect.
• Fearless code reading in large, unfamiliar codebases.
• Empathy for users, including developers and operators.
• Testing discipline and experience shipping reliable software.
• Comfort with ambiguity and undefined specifications.

Responsibilities

• Dig into inherited Scala systems to identify root causes and scalability gaps.
• Redesign the data layer supporting ML/AI products.
• Build a Rust framework for correct, performant services.
• Improve observability and resilience across the platform.
• Shape developer tooling and engineering standards.
• Drive AI tool adoption across the company.
• Work across the full stack: JVM, Rust, Python, SQL, Spark.
