Job summary

Persona AI, Inc. in Houston seeks a Staff Platform Engineer to own the developer infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and the tooling that keeps our engineers productive across C/C++, Python, Rust, and GPU workloads.

You will manage on-prem and edge deployments for a robot software stack, ship reproducible builds, and drive fast, safe releases to fleet robots while reducing build times and time-to-first-commit.

Qualifications

• 8+ years operating production infrastructure for a software engineering org, with direct ownership of CI/CD or developer platform work.
• Deep Linux systems fluency including networking, storage, systemd, kernel and driver debugging.
• Hands-on ownership of a major CI system (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Buildkite, Jenkins) and understanding of build/cache layers.
• Experience with C/C++ build systems at scale (Bazel/CMake) including cross-compilation and dependency pinning.
• Infrastructure as code and GitOps mindset: reproducible, version-controlled changes.
• Fluent Python and Bash; automate rather than documenting procedures.
• Strong written communication and decision-documented processes.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the CI/CD and developer platform for a mixed language monorepo (C/C++/Python/Rust/CUDA).
• Ensure reproducible builds, remote caching, and cross-compilation for AMD64 and ARM64 targets.
• Manage CI runners, hardware-attached runners, and fast PR feedback loops (<10 minutes).
• Oversee versioning, artifact promotion, and container/mirror infrastructure.
• Provide reproducible dev environments across laptops, shared machines, and robots.
