Job summary

Anthropic seeks an experienced Platform Portability Engineer to design portable infrastructure that lets Claude run on any cloud, keeping workloads consistent across providers. You will own end-to-end delivery, including build, release, and validation pipelines, and collaborate with cloud partners and internal teams to land features and resolve issues.

Qualifications

8+ years of practical experience building and operating production distributed systems.
Own large-scale infrastructure systems and lead ambiguous, cross-team technical projects from design through production.
Run the same production workload across multiple cloud providers, including migration or abstraction work.
Understand cloud IAM models and networking primitives across providers.
Write production code in Python, Go, or Rust.
Work confidently with Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi).
Understand ML infrastructure and interconnects.
Ship software through hyperscaler marketplaces or managed-model platforms.
Background in security, compliance, or data residency.

Responsibilities

Design and build provider-agnostic abstractions for storage, messaging, and connectivity across clouds.
Develop tooling to provision, configure, and operate services across clouds via a single interface.
Identify and remove provider-specific assumptions in the codebase to ensure portability.
Own end-to-end delivery of Claude on partner clouds, including build, release, and validation pipelines.
Collaborate with cloud partners and internal teams to land features and debug platform issues.
Deep-dive into native integrations with providers to maintain cross-cloud consistency.
Review designs for cloud-portability and mentor engineers on multi-cloud patterns.
Participate in on-call rotation; design postmortems and incident response.
