Job summary

Anthropic is seeking an experienced Platform Portability Engineer to design and build portable infrastructure that runs on any cloud, enabling Claude to operate across provider platforms. You will own end-to-end delivery for cloud deployments, build, release, and validation pipelines, and work closely with cloud partners and internal teams to implement multi-cloud capabilities.

You will mentor engineers, review designs with portability in mind, and contribute to incident response and on-call

Qualifications

Minimum of 8 years of practical experience building and operating production distributed systems.
Lead ambiguous, cross-team technical projects from design through production.
Run production workloads across multiple cloud providers.
Understand cloud IAM models and networking across providers.
Write production code in Python, Go, or Rust.
Work with Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi).
Understand ML infrastructure and interconnects.
Ship software through hyperscaler marketplaces or managed-model platforms.
Background in security, compliance, or data residency for regulated environments.
Care about societal impacts and Anthropic's mission to build safe, beneficial AI.

Responsibilities

Design and build portable infrastructure abstractions for storage, messaging, and connectivity across clouds.
Own delivery end-to-end for Claude on partner clouds, including build, release, and validation pipelines.
Collaborate with cloud partners and internal teams to land features, debug issues, and influence roadmaps.
Mentor engineers across the org on multi-cloud patterns and align stakeholders.
