Job summary

Anthropic builds and runs the secure execution environment for Claude's agentic capabilities. You will work at the intersection of systems engineering and security, owning design through deployment for containerized workloads that millions rely on.

The role requires deep experience with distributed systems, cloud platforms, and modern languages. Location preference includes NY and Bay Area; competitive compensation is provided with a focus on scalable platform impact.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience as backend or platform engineer building scalable distributed systems.
• Strong fundamentals in service-oriented architectures, networking, and systems design.
• Proficient in Python, Go, Rust, or similar systems languages.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS, or Azure), Kubernetes, and/or multi-cloud networking.
• Take ownership from design through deployment and operations.
• Navigate ambiguity and make sound technical decisions independently.
• Product-focused approach to platform work and robust, scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Independently scope complex, multi-month projects and drive cross-org alignment.
• Partner with research to productize cutting-edge capabilities and shape the platform.
