Qualifications

• 8+ years in backend engineering with large-scale prod systems in fintech or regulated environments.
• Proven leadership owning end-to-end design, delivery and rollout of complex backend systems.
• Deep distributed-systems expertise including scalability, reliability, and HA for Tier-0 services.
• Expert Go coding with hands-on gRPC, AWS, and Kubernetes experience.
• Experience in identity, KYC, fraud infra or payments, translating problems into roadmaps.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to improve workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end architecture and direction for Coinbase's IDV platform, including decision engine and verification infra.
• Lead platform consolidation by migrating all IDV to a single platform and retire legacy paths.
• Design vendor-agnostic orchestration with real-time routing and failover to balance fraud and access.
• Scale the platform to support new products, regions, and verification modalities with self-serve config.
• Drive cross-team strategy and define abstractions, APIs, and platform patterns across identity org.
