Strategic Systems, Inc. in Columbus seeks a Staff Platform Engineer to shape enterprise platform engineering capabilities, drive platform standards, and lead the adoption of cloud-native architectures and automation across teams.

You will coordinate across security, architecture, product, and leadership to deliver reusable platform products, self-service capabilities, and intelligent automation that improve developer productivity and operational excellence at scale.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in IT/CS/Engineering or related field.
8–10 years in platform engineering, software/cloud engineering, DevOps, or automation.
Experience leading large-scale technical initiatives and influencing engineering strategy.
Strong cloud-native, automation, DevOps, and modern software delivery practices.

Responsibilities

Define strategic direction and roadmap for platform engineering capabilities.
Lead architecture and design of enterprise platforms, products, and shared services.
Define standards, reference architectures, and reusable patterns for platform modernization.
Drive intelligent automation, AI-enabled engineering, and autonomous workflows.
Define platform reliability, IaC, deployment automation, and observability standards.
Establish governance, security, and policy automation across platform ecosystems.
