Job summary

InterSystems' Platform Engineering team builds and evolves internal platforms that power software development across the company. You will be a hands-on technical leader, solving complex engineering challenges and guiding the direction of developer tooling, automation, and reliability.

The role focuses on scalable, secure platforms, with opportunities to apply AI-enabled engineering capabilities to boost productivity and software delivery across InterSystems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Eight or more years of experience in software, platform, or infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or related discipline.
• Experience leading complex technical initiatives across multiple systems or teams.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD platforms, build systems, developer tooling, automation, Infrastructure as Code, containers, and observability.
• Strong understanding of system architecture, reliability, security, scalability, and maintainability.
• Experience using AI tools to improve software development and engineering workflows.
• Ability to identify where AI can enhance developer productivity while understanding limitations and risks.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and architectural direction across Platform Engineering.
• Design and enhance internal platforms, developer tools, build systems, CI/CD pipelines, release automation, and software factory capabilities.
• Identify opportunities to simplify and automate how software is built, tested, and delivered.
• Help ensure our platforms are scalable, reliable, secure, and maintainable.
• Evaluate new technologies and introduce them where they can make a meaningful impact.
• Collaborate with teams across the organization, mentor engineers, and help guide technical decisions.
