Job summary

Agile Occupational Medicine is seeking a Staff Physician to join our California centers. You will lead clinical programs under the Chief Medical Officer, delivering high-quality occupational health services to businesses and patients.

The role focuses on direct patient care, clinical leadership, and continuous improvement within a supportive team environment. Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• The candidate has an MD or DO degree from an accredited medical program.
• Unrestricted California medical license (or license in progress).
• Board certification or eligibility per ABPM/ABFM/AOA or state board.
• Active DEA registration is required.
• BLS certification is required at hire.
• NRCME (DOT Medical Examiner) certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Spends 100% of time in a center providing direct patient care and leads by example.
• Works as Primary Treating Physician for injuries, coordinating with therapists.
• Manages clinicians and support staff per supervisory requirements.
• Fosters a collaborative, high-quality, patient-safety focused environment.
• Identifies and implements changes to improve clinical efficiency.
• Masters clinical systems to ensure documentation, coding, and charge capture.
• Ensures compliance with State Practice Act/Regulations and WC rules.
• Communicates with employers about new injuries and clinical changes.
• Participates in team meetings to improve quality and center growth.
• Maintains relationships with clients and payers with timely responses.
• Manages staffing levels and competencies for optimal patient care.
• Supports staff development and fosters a culture of continuous improvement.
• Promotes center initiatives consistent with other centers.
• Provides input to center budget and key business metrics.
