Job summary

Piedmont Walton Hospital, part of Piedmont Healthcare, Inc., is seeking a Pharmacist to manage distribution, compounding, dispensing, and monitoring of medication therapy across infant to geriatric patients. You will supervise pharmacy technicians and participate in patient-focused clinical activities to ensure optimal therapy outcomes.

Required is a PharmD or higher from an ACPE-accredited school, Georgia license upon hire, and hospital pharmacy experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a Bachelor's or higher in Pharmacy required.
• No experience required (hospital pharmacy experience preferred).
• PHARMD - Licensed Pharmacist licensed in the state of Georgia upon hire required.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties of distribution, documentation and compounding related to drugs, solutions and equipment to meet the needs of patients and staff.
• Responsible for the reviewing, compounding, dispensing and monitoring of medication therapy for infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients including dosing variations and disease states.
• Supervises pharmacy technician activities including monitoring of all orders filled by auxiliary personnel and provides patient-focused clinical activities to optimize medication therapy.

Assumes responsibility for competency and self-development in professional pharmacy practice. Performs patient focused care clinical activities throughout the hospital, to provide patients with optimal medication therapy.
