Job summary

Piedmont Columbus Midtown is seeking a Staff Pharmacist to support distribution, compounding, and medication therapy monitoring across infant to geriatric patients. The role includes supervising pharmacy technicians and participating in patient-focused clinical activities to ensure optimal therapy.

Graduation from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy and Georgia Pharmacist licensure are required; hospital pharmacy experience is preferred though not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy.
• Licensed Pharmacist in Georgia (PHARMD) upon hire.
• No experience required; hospital pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs distribution, documentation and compounding related to drugs and equipment to meet patient and staff needs.
• Reviews, compounds, dispenses and monitors medication therapy for diverse age groups.
• Supervises pharmacy technicians and monitors orders filled by staff.
• Provides patient-focused care clinical activities to optimize medication therapy.

Responsibilities

Staff Pharmacist, PRN, Piedmont Columbus Midtown

Performs duties of distribution, documentation and compounding related to drugs, solutions and equipment to meet the needs of patients and staff. Responsible for the reviewing, compounding, dispensing and monitoring of medication therapy for infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients which includes dosing variations, nutritional needs and disease states associated with the various age groups. Supervises pharmacy technician activities including monitoring of all orders filled by auxiliary personnel. Assumes responsibility for competency and self-development in professional pharmacy practice. Performs patient focused care clinical activities throughout the hospital, to provide patients with optimal medication therapy.
