Job summary

Weights & Biases, now part of CoreWeave, seeks a Senior Staff Engineer to own performance across the platform. You will design experiments, build benchmarking and load-testing tooling, and work with product, infrastructure, and SRE teams to prevent regressions while improving latency and throughput.

You’ll leverage Go, Python, or TypeScript, apply observability best practices, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines. Join a fast-moving team driving AI tooling performance in the US.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering, with 2+ years in performance optimization or observability.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, or TypeScript with strong debugging/profiling skills.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and their performance implications.
• Experience designing load testing, benchmarking, or regression frameworks.
• Familiarity with metrics and tracing systems and performance data analysis.
• Experience integrating performance measurement into CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to design experiments and analyze large datasets.
• Proven track record of leading cross-functional technical initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Own complex performance challenges across the W&B platform and infrastructure.
• Design and lead experiments to improve scalability and latency.
• Develop standardized benchmarking and load-testing frameworks.
• Drive initiatives to prevent regressions across product surfaces.
• Collaborate with product, infrastructure, and SRE teams.
• Build and share performance tools and enablement for engineers.
