Job summary

UChicago Medicine in Chicago’s Hyde Park campus is seeking a Staff Nurse for the 5NE General Medicine unit. This 100% onsite role is part-time (0.6 FTE) and focuses on delivering patient-centered care to adult inpatients in a 16-bed telemetry unit.

The position offers a supportive, multidisciplinary environment with opportunities for growth. IL RN license and BLS are required; ADN to BSN tuition reimbursement is provided; nights 7pm–7:30am at onsite location.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an NLN-accredited School of Nursing.
• Associate Degree in Nursing is required.
• ADN nurses enroll in a BSN program within 6–9 months of hire and complete BSN within 30 months; 100% tuition reimbursement toward BSN.

Responsibilities

• Utilize assessment skills to determine patient needs.
• Develop and implement care plans; collaborate with Case Manager.
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as assigned.
• Support peers and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Use clinical pathways and plans of care.
• Pursue professional growth through continuing education.
