Job summary

University of Chicago Medicine is seeking a Staff Nurse (RN) for the Supplemental Staff department in the greater Chicagoland area. This 100% onsite role supports inpatient Medical Surgical Telemetry and Intensive Care units.

The position is a Part-Time (0.6 FTE) night shift based in Hyde Park, with a focus on patient-centered, outcome-directed care. As a registered nurse, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, collaborate with the care team, document thoroughly, and coordinate

Qualifications

• NLN accredited School of Nursing graduate.
• Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Current Illinois RN license.
• Active BLS Certification.
• ADN nurses must enroll in BSN within 6–9 months and complete BSN within 30 months.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and determine care plan.
• Develop and adjust care plans with the care team.
• Document care in patient records.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team for patient-centered care.
• Coordinate discharge planning for smooth transition home.
