Job summary

Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems sector is seeking a Staff Mechanical Engineer on the Command Systems Hardware team for the Sentinel GBSD program. Located on-site in Roy, UT, you will lead PDP development, interface with IPTs, suppliers, and customers to engineer solutions and deliver PDPs on schedule.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree, 12+ years of experience, US citizenship, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance and SAP approval.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM discipline.
• Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience.
• U.S. citizen and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time.
• Experience with design/fabrication techniques for structural details, assemblies, and/or installations.
• Experience with 3-D modeling tools.
• Experience using Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement deployable mechanical mechanisms that are verified through test/analysis.
• Develop CAD models visualizing various design solutions.
• Implement program processes and engineering board approval processes for developed PDPs.
• Deliver required PDPs on time to meet program objectives.
• Integrate Infrastructure Integration PDPs with the various element teams to proactively eliminate disconnects and design clashes.
• Identify gaps within a design and/or requirements and provide a resolution that is cost effective, innovative, and has minimal impact to others.
• Ensure the developed PDPs meet the design requirements from the various element/configured item specifications.
• Support digital transformation initiatives relating to PDP development and release.
