Job summary

Eight Sleep invites an experienced Staff Mechanical Engineer to lead new product development from concept through production. You will own critical decisions within a small, mission-driven team and have ample growth opportunities, with this role based out of our San Francisco office five days a week.

You will architect complex electromechanical systems, drive end-to-end designs, and collaborate across design, product, and leadership to deliver high-volume sleep fitness hardware with integrated

Qualifications

• 8+ years of consumer product design experience with knowledge of injection molding, sheet metal forming, and sensor/electronics integration.
• Manufacturing support in Asia. Willingness to travel to China as needed.
• Proficient with 3D modeling tools and simulations (SolidWorks, NX, Creo).
• Experience with high-volume manufacturing, DFM/DFA, tolerances, GD&T.
• Root-cause analysis, DOEs, and quality measurement techniques.

Responsibilities

• Architect and design complex electromechanical systems with sensors and actuators.
• Drive designs through development lifecycle from concept to production in Asia.
• Collaborate with industrial design, marketing, product teams and leadership.
• Solve cross-functional problems with electrical, software, reliability, and manufacturing teams.
• Perform thermal, fluid, and structural analyses to meet product goals.
