Job summary

Eight Sleep, Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to drive the design of electromechanical systems from concept to production. You will own critical decisions on a small, mission-driven team and have opportunities for rapid career growth.

This role is based out of our San Francisco office, requiring 5 days per week on site. You will collaborate with electrical, software, reliability, and manufacturing teams, and you will help push the Pod’s technology to new performance and scale.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of consumer product design experience with knowledge of injection molding, sheet metal forming, and sensor/electronics integration.
• Experience shipping high-volume consumer products, including manufacturing support in Asia.
• Highly proficient with 3D modeling tools (SolidWorks, NX, Creo).
• Strong understanding of DFМ/ DFA, tolerance analysis, and GD&T.
• Root cause analysis, DOEs, and other quality methods.

Responsibilities

• Architect and design complex electromechanical systems for production.
• Lead designs through the development lifecycle from concept to ramp into production in Asia.
• Collaborate across electrical, software, reliability, and manufacturing teams to solve cross-functional problems.
• Support analysis and testing to ensure product goals are met (thermal, fluid, structural).
• Shape product direction with design, marketing, and leadership.
