Eight Sleep seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to take ownership of electromechanical product development from concept to production. You’ll join a small, mission-driven team with significant influence over decisions and rapid growth opportunities.

The role is based in our San Francisco office, 5 days/week, with responsibility spanning design, analysis, and collaboration across hardware disciplines to deliver best-in-class sleep tech.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of consumer product design experience including integration of sensors/electronics
• Experience shipping high-volume consumer products and manufacturing support in Asia
• Proficiency with 3D modeling tools (Solidworks, NX, Creo)
• DFM/DFA, tolerance analysis, and GD&T expertise
• Root cause analysis, DOEs, and quality measurement techniques
• BSME or equivalent degree
• Willingness to travel to China as needed

Responsibilities

• Architect and design complex electromechanical systems across plastics, metal, and soft goods with sensors and actuators
• Lead designs through the full development lifecycle and ramp to production in Asia
• Collaborate with electrical, software, reliability, and manufacturing teams to solve cross-functional problems
• Perform thermal, fluid, and structural analyses to meet product goals
• Shape product direction with industrial design, marketing, product teams and leadership
