Job summary

Eight Sleep is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and test electromechanical systems, owning significant development decisions within a small, mission-driven team in San Francisco.

You will contribute across the full development lifecycle, from concept to mass production, with opportunities for growth as the company scales. The role starts around June/July 2027 and requires collaboration across multiple disciplines.

Qualifications

• BSME or equivalent; MS preferred.
• Willingness to travel to Asia as needed.
• Experience with high-volume manufacturing processes, DFM, DFA, tolerance analysis, and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Design, build & test complex electromechanical systems, including plastic, metal, and soft goods components integrating with novel sensors and actuators.
• Help drive designs across the entire development lifecycle, including brainstorming, CAD, prototyping, testing, and ramp into high-volume production in Asia.
• Collaborate with electrical engineering, industrial design, manufacturing, and product team members to develop products from early stage concepts to mass production.
• Perform various testing and analyses to ensure designs meet product goals, including thermal, fluid, and structural analyses.
