Eight Sleep in San Francisco is seeking an experienced Staff Mechanical Engineer to lead new product development from concept through production. You’ll join a small, mission-driven team with significant ownership over technical decisions, and have opportunities for rapid career growth as the company scales.

This role is based in the SF office, five days a week, and requires deep expertise in electromechanical design, high-volume manufacturing, and global supplier collaboration.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of consumer product design experience with injection molding and sensor/electronics integration.
• Global manufacturing support, including travel to China.
• Proficient with 3D modeling and simulation tools.
• Experience with high-volume manufacturing, DFM/DFA, GD&T.
• Root cause analysis and DOE techniques.

Responsibilities

• Architect and design electromechanical systems across lifecycle.
• Drive designs from concept to production, including prototyping and testing.
• Collaborate with design, marketing, product, leadership.
• Resolve cross-functional problems with electrical, software, reliability, and manufacturing teams.
• Perform thermal, fluid, and structural analyses to meet goals.
