Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Staff Application Engineer in a hybrid role based in either San Antonio, TX, or New Freedom, PA. You will support the sale of Chiller products through JCI branches and sales teams, providing pre-sale technical guidance, responding to system inquiries, and quoting specialized configurations to enable successful orders.

This role travels up to 15% and offers a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in HVAC or chillers preferred.
• Knowledge of refrigeration principles.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-sale technical support for Chiller Solutions.
• Assist sales teams with system applications and inquiries.
• Develop tools/docs to support field sales and automate common inquiries.
• Use in-house engineering systems to respond to product requests.
• Evaluate technologies to improve reliability and energy efficiency.
• Design and customize data center chiller systems for optimal cooling and energy use.
• Communicate with sales, design engineers and product teams to clarify requirements.
• Obtain supplier quotations for costs and lead times.
