Job summary
Johnson Controls is seeking a Senior Application Engineer to support the sale of Chiller products through HVAC System Branches and sales teams in export markets. The role combines pre-sale technical support, system-level inquiries, and coordination with order management to ensure successful quotations and orders.
Based in a hybrid role in San Antonio, TX or New Freedom, PA, the engineer will stay current on product developments, interact with field personnel, and help design optimized data
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required and 3+ years in HVAC or chillers.
- Strong knowledge of refrigeration principles and equipment.
- Willingness to travel up to 15% for factory and field visits.
Responsibilities
- Guide field sales on application and installation of Chiller Solutions equipment.
- Provide systems applications advice and develop creative customer solutions.
- Develop tools and docs to support field sales and automate inquiries.
- Respond to product inquiries using in-house engineering systems.
- Stay informed on emerging technologies to improve data center chillers.
- Design customized chillers for data center environments.
- Advise sales on equipment/code challenges.
- Coordinate with sales, design engineers, and product management.
- Obtain supplier quotes for cost and lead time.
- Demonstrate product knowledge and market trends.
