Job summary

Johnson Controls in the United States is seeking a Senior Application Engineer to support data center chiller solutions across export markets. This hybrid role can be based in San Antonio, TX or New Freedom, PA, with relocation packages available.

You will provide pre-sale technical support, respond to system-level inquiries, generate special quotations, and coordinate with Order Management and Contract Engineering to drive order execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 3+ years of experience in HVAC or chillers.
• Knowledge of refrigeration principles and equipment.
• Willingness to travel up to 15% for factory and site visits.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance on application and installation of Chiller Solutions equipment.
• Advise on system applications and create solutions for customer needs.
• Develop tools and documentation to support field sales and automate inquiries.
• Proficient use of in-house engineering systems to respond to product inquiries.
• Evaluate emerging technologies to improve reliability, scalability, and energy efficiency.
• Design and customize chiller systems for data center environments.
• Assist sales in resolving equipment and code challenges.
• Coordinate with sales, design engineers and product management to ensure clear requirements and timely responses.
• Obtain supplier quotations for special product requests.
• Demonstrate knowledge of products, market trends, and regulatory impacts.
