Job summary

Grafana Labs is seeking a Staff Fullstack Engineer for the AppCore Usage squad. This remote position focuses on backend systems for billing and usage, with some frontend work in TypeScript/React.

You’ll own complex technical work, guide deployments, and collaborate across multiple teams to ensure reliable, scalable services. You will lead design discussions, contribute to code quality, and mentor peers while embracing AI-assisted development to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing and operating production backend systems.
• Strong Go backend development experience and architectural judgment.
• Proficiency with Node.js and frontend React/TypeScript work when needed.
• Experience with distributed systems, retries and data consistency.
• Ability to own end-to-end projects from requirements to production.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate backend services and APIs for billing, rates, usage and marketplace workflows.
• Develop and maintain backend services in Go and contribute to TypeScript/React frontend features.
• Improve billing/workflow reliability, validation, reconciliation and recovery.
• Identify repetitive tasks and replace with automation and robust workflows.
• Maintain and evolve Kubernetes workloads, cloud resources, and deployment configurations.
• Use IaC and CI/CD pipelines to enable repeatable, auditable deployments.
• Investigate production issues across code, DBs and infrastructure; optimize performance.
• Plan deployments and migrations with monitoring, validation and rollback plans.
• Build integrations with cloud marketplaces and external business systems as needed.
• Deliver projects end-to-end from requirements through production support.
• Make changes traceable and testable with clear explanations of system behavior.
• Collaborate with product, Support, DealOps, GTM, infra teams and other AppCore squads.
• Provide technical leadership through design reviews and mentoring.
• Participate in on-call rotations and improve dashboards, runbooks and incident response.
