Job summary

Amplitude is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the UI Foundations Team to drive architectural decisions for our frontend platform and lead the build-out of autonomous, AI-agent-driven workflows that increase engineering velocity.

You will own frontend foundations, push performance forward, and mentor senior engineers while collaborating with product and infra teams to deliver scalable frontend solutions at Amplitude.

Qualifications

• Real world software engineering experience at Staff level or equivalent.
• Deep frontend architecture expertise with React or similar.
• Strong infra/systems engineering instincts with build tooling and dev environments.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve frontend architectural foundations (module boundaries, micro-frontends, shared component infra).
• Diagnose and fix performance issues (bundle size, load time, runtime).
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and internal tooling used daily by engineers.
• Identify bottlenecks in engineering workflows and build AI-agent-driven automation to remove them.
• Set technical direction and standards for the frontend org; mentor senior engineers.
• Collaborate with product, design systems, and infra teams to solve real product pains.
