Job summary

Operative is seeking a seasoned frontend architect to own the frontend architecture and work at the intersection of UX, Product, and Engineering to translate design intent into scalable, high-quality implementation.

The role focuses on defining patterns, advancing AI-assisted development, and mentoring frontend engineers across a global team while shaping the user experience of a cloud-native SaaS platform.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with significant depth in frontend architecture and development.
• Ownership of frontend across its full lifecycle, including architecture, standards, delivery, and ongoing stewardship.
• Senior technical leadership within distributed or globally distributed teams.
• Establishing durable technical patterns and standards for frontend architecture.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the frontend architecture, including component models, state management patterns, build tooling, performance standards, and testing strategy
• Collaborate with UX and Product to translate design systems and workflows into clean, maintainable implementation patterns
• Drive AI-assisted development practices within the frontend team and help define the user experience layer for AI capabilities
• Establish and uphold code quality standards through design reviews, tooling, documentation, and hands-on examples
• Identify and drive high-impact frontend improvements from assessment to delivery
• Serve as the primary technical liaison between design and engineering to ensure alignment
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to frontend engineers across the global team
• Make and communicate architectural decisions with stakeholders
