Job summary

Amplitude is seeking a Staff Software Engineer who blends infrastructure thinking with frontend fluency. You will drive architectural direction for the frontend platform, push performance and DevX forward, and build AI-agent-driven engineering workflows to increase velocity across the org.

You will mentor senior engineers, define standards, and partner with product/design/infra teams to deliver foundational investments that solve real product-team pain points.

Qualifications

• Real world software engineering experience at staff level or equivalent scope.
• Deep expertise in modern frontend architecture (React or similar).
• Experience with infrastructure/systems engineering and build tooling.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the architectural foundations of the frontend platform.
• Improve application performance, establish budgets and guardrails.
• Build and maintain build systems, local dev environments, CI/CD pipelines, and internal tooling.
• Identify bottlenecks in engineering workflows and develop AI-agent-driven automation.
• Set technical direction and standards for the frontend org and mentor staff engineers.
• Collaborate with product, design systems and infra teams to solve frontend pain points.
