Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Staff FPGA Engineer to provide technical leadership in FPGA verification for satellite and aerospace hardware. You will develop verification plans, lead debugging, and validate designs across complex products, while guiding teams through high‑speed interfaces and timing closure.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited university.
• 8 years of industry or university research experience in FPGA systems at HDL level.
• Extensive knowledge of digital logic design, FPGA architecture, HDL, and digital systems.
• Proficiency developing FPGA verification environments for complex products.
• Understanding FPGA verification methodologies, timing closure, embedded systems, and high-speed interfaces.
• Working knowledge of UVM Framework (UVMF) including reusable testbenches.
• Proficiency with MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams.
• FPGA development, simulation, and synthesis tools (Vivado, Quartus Prime, ModelSim/QuestaSim).
• Engineering analysis, version control, and collaboration tools (MATLAB, Git, Jira, Windchill).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead FPGA verification, debugging, and qualification activities for product development.
• Evaluate simulation results and drive solutions to improve performance and reliability.
• Validate FPGA designs through verification planning, testing, failure analysis, and ECIs.
• Develop verification plans and review packages to support engineering decisions.
• Support design reviews, customer meetings, and hardware integration with FPGA guidance.
• Evaluate methods and requirements to identify improvements in FPGA verification.
• Drive initiatives to enhance FPGA performance, efficiency, reliability, and maintainability.
