Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Staff FPGA Engineer to lead verification of FPGA-based hardware for space-grade products in a startup environment. You will steer verification methodologies, tackle complex engineering challenges, and advance FPGA solutions that boost performance, reliability, and mission success.

You will collaborate across design reviews, hardware integration, and product development, bringing hands-on leadership and a drive for high-quality results in satellite and aerospace systems.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from a accredited university.
• 8 years of FPGA design, analysis, and verification experience at HDL level.
• Strong knowledge of digital logic design, FPGA architecture and HDL languages.
• Experience developing FPGA verification environments and reusable testbenches.
• Proficient with UVM framework and verification methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead FPGA verification, debugging, and qualification activities for product development.
• Evaluate simulation results and direct solutions to improve performance and reliability.
• Validate FPGA designs via verification planning, testing, root-cause analysis, and changes.
• Develop verification plans and review packages for engineering decisions.
• Support customer meetings, design reviews, and hardware integration with FPGA guidance.
• Identify improvements in FPGA methods, requirements, and long-term maintainability.
