CesiumAstro seeks a Staff FPGA Engineer to provide technical leadership in FPGA verification for space-grade hardware, satellite platforms, and aerospace systems.

You will establish verification methodologies, drive complex debugging, and advance FPGA solutions to improve product performance, reliability, and mission success. This role fits a startup-like, autonomous, collaborative environment with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited university.
• 8 years of industry or university research experience in FPGA design, analysis, and HDL implementation.
• Extensive knowledge of digital logic design, FPGA architecture, HDL languages, and digital systems.
• Experience developing FPGA verification environments for complex products.
• Strong understanding of FPGA verification methodologies, timing closure, embedded systems, and high-speed interfaces.
• Working knowledge of UVM Framework (UVMF) and reusable testbenches/verification components.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
• Experience with FPGA development, simulation, and synthesis tools (Vivado, Quartus Prime, ModelSim/QuestaSim).
• Engineering analysis, version control, and collaboration tools (MATLAB, Git, Jira, Windchill).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex FPGA verification, debugging, and qualification activities supporting product development.
• Evaluate simulation results and risks, directing solutions to improve performance and reliability.
• Validate FPGA designs through verification planning, testing, failure analysis, and root-cause investigations.
• Develop verification plans and review packages to support engineering decisions.
• Support customer meetings, design reviews, and hardware integration with FPGA guidance.
• Evaluate verification methods and requirements to identify improvements.
• Drive initiatives to enhance FPGA performance, reliability, and maintainability.
