Job summary

Apptronik in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to architect the electronics for Apollo’s sensor bridge. You will own FPGA RTL, high-speed interfaces, and bring-up through production, collaborating with perception, hardware, software, and manufacturing teams.

Strong candidates will have experience with FPGA design, RTL development, and mixed-signal hardware to enable deterministic multi-camera timing and robust sensor data paths. This is a hands-on, leadership role with impact.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in electrical engineering with hardware design for high-speed systems.
• Proven experience with FPGA architecture, RTL (VHDL/Verilog), and mixed-signal design.
• Experience with CSI-2, GMSL, Ethernet, or PCIe interfaces and signal integrity.
• Knowledge of power sequencing, EMC/ESD, and thermal considerations.
• Strong collaboration and technical leadership across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Own requirements, architecture, schematic capture, RTL, and validation for the sensor-bridge board.
• Define device selection and integrate high-speed transceivers and PHYs.
• Lead bring-up, debugging, and test plan development across hardware and FPGA boundaries.
• Mentor engineers and coordinate with vendors, CM’s, and manufacturing.
