Job summary

Apptronik in Sunnyvale, CA seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to design electronics for Apollo's sensor bridge, focusing on FPGA hardware and RTL development to enable high-speed camera data and multi-sensor synchronization.

You'll own subsystems from schematic to RTL, validate with lab equipment, coordinate with perception, software, and mechanical teams, and drive manufacturing readiness while meeting EMI/thermal constraints and timing budgets to ensure robust shipped hardware.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Electrical Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Electronics & FPGA Design Execution: own schematic capture, layout guidance, and RTL implementation from prototyping to manufacturing release.
  • High-Speed & Mixed-Signal Hardware Design: design and validate CSI-2, GMSL/SerDes, Ethernet, PCIe interfaces with signal integrity and EMC considerations.
  • FPGA RTL Development: develop RTL in VHDL/Verilog for CSI-2 ingest, Ethernet packetization, and camera synchronization."
  • Validation, Bring-Up, and Debugging: develop validation plans, build test fixtures, and verify latency/bandwidth/timing.
  • Lifecycle Management & Vendor Alignment: manage components lifecycle and hardware vendors for scale and manufacturability.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: work with technical leads, PMs, software, mechanical, thermal, and manufacturing; mentor junior engineers.
