Job summary

ALSO is seeking a Staff Field Integration and Quality Engineer in the Silicon Valley area to lead integration of drive units, batteries, and LV electronics. You will troubleshoot using CAN tools, support pilots, and keep firmware up to date. Expect up to 50% travel to customer sites and cross‑functional collaboration with service and engineering teams.

The role requires 5+ years in embedded systems, NPI experience, and strong diagnostics skills, with HV safety awareness and automotive protocols.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years in embedded systems with 3+ years in new product introduction.
• Hands-on electronics and HV awareness up to 100V+ with proper PPE.
• Experience with CAN/CAN FD, SPI and automotive diagnostics.
• Familiar with cloud services, SQL, and Python for data processing.

Responsibilities

• Lead integration of drive units, batteries, inverters, displays and LV electronics.
• Troubleshoot with CAN tools; reproduce faults, pull logs, decode DTCs, validate fixes.
• Support pilots and fleet running; prep vehicles and telematics commissioning.
• Maintain fleet firmware via OTA and update service manuals.
• Work with service partners; travel to customer sites for failure insights.
• Review telemetry to identify health trends; estimate repair needs and costs.
• Build data visualization tools and dashboards for telemetry ingestion.
• Process field return parts using 8D methodology.
• Train technicians and service staff on tools and new processes.
