Job summary
IT Accel, Inc. seeks a Senior EV Systems Engineer in Norwalk, CA, to lead integration of electric vehicle systems across HV batteries, propulsion, controls, charging, and hydraulics. You will oversee architecture, validation, BOMs, and field deployment, while mentoring junior engineers.
The ideal candidate has 10+ years in EVs or vehicle integration, strong hands-on HV knowledge, and experience with CAN/SAE J1939 and MATLAB/Simulink. Travel may be required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Mechatronics or related field.
- 10+ years in EVs or vehicle integration with hands-on experience.
- Proven ability to lead integration projects through commissioning and release.
- Strong knowledge of high-voltage systems, BMS, CAN (J1939) and diagnostics.
- Willingness to travel and valid driver's license.
Responsibilities
- Lead EV system integration programs from requirements to field deployment.
- Develop vehicle-level requirements, architectures, BOMs and test plans.
- Assess diesel-to-electric conversions for commercial vehicles.
- Integrate batteries, motors, inverters, chargers, and HV/LV components.
- Design high- and low-voltage schematics, wiring, grounding, and protection.
- Integrate CAN-based vehicle communications and diagnostics.
- Calibrate controls for propulsion, charging, and thermal systems.
- Perform commissioning, testing, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
