Job summary

Haley & Aldrich is seeking a Staff Environmental Engineer or Geologist 2 to work on environmental and geotechnical projects across multiple locations. The role involves field work, traveling to job sites, and coordinating with senior staff.

You will conduct site investigations, collect samples, analyze data, prepare reports, and ensure health and safety compliance. Travel across the U.S. is expected as required.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, or other related discipline. M.S. degree welcomed.
• 0-5 years of professional services consulting experience including Phase I/II environmental assessments and reporting.
• Must comply with Guiding Principles and Code of Behavior in the Company Charter.
• Must comply with Health & Safety protocols.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Has or will obtain EIT/FE/FG/PG certification where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform site reconnaissance to observe conditions and assess access for subsurface explorations.
• Monitor subsurface exploration activities (borings, geoprobes, test pits) for data collection.
• Conduct soil and groundwater sampling per ASTM standards and procedures.
• Collect and analyze data using approved procedures for discipline.
• Compile and report field, geological, and environmental data using spreadsheets and tools.
• Conduct on-site monitoring of contractor environmental activities.
• Use environmental instrumentation during field work.
• Perform historical site review and regulatory reviews as appropriate.
• Prepare written reports, proposals, and Phase I/II ESAs.
• Adhere to Site Specific Health and Safety Plans and participate in safety briefings.
