Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Staff Engineer Electronics - Software Integration to join a cross‑functional team in San Diego, CA or Melbourne, FL. You will develop software interfaces for Electronic Warfare subsystems, analyze performance, manage interfaces, and validate requirements while collaborating with EW suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 12+ years of related experience; OR Master’s in STEM with 10+ years; OR Ph.D. with 8+ years.
• Experience in RF/EW applications, including modeling in Matlab, Python, and/or C/C++.
• Experience designing, developing, integrating, and/or testing RF equipment for airborne platforms.
• Familiarity with RF sensing modalities and their applications.
• Experience with digital signal processing.
• Active Top Secret SCI security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer requirements into software specifications and drive implementation.
• Collaborate with avionics and mission subsystem teams to meet platform objectives.
• Work with hardware, software, and firmware engineers to integrate systems.
• Support EW algorithms for next-generation RF sensors.
• Develop and verify designs using digital simulation and hardware-in-the-loop methods.
• Create supplier documentation and statements of work; review supplier artifacts.
• Document designs with detailed schematics, diagrams, and specifications.
